Patty + Andy. Engagement Teasers. Part II

The Time has come :) My dear friend and intern, Patty, is marrying the love of her life this coming August at Quail Botanical Gardens. Patty and I met for the first time at their consultation. It took about 2 seconds for me to fall in love with this couple. It was only a matter of weeks before Patty started interning with me, and I has been such a blessing. She is a beautiful light and being with Andy only makes that light shine brighter. Saying I am happy for this couple is truly an understatement! How I am going to hold back the tears to focus the camera at this wedding is beyond me! I'll have to turn off all emotions and completely fix myself into "work mode!"

For their engagement session they started out in the studio and had a little Tequila to get things warmed up :) It was so fun! Then we headed over to Patty's secret photo spot for the rest of the photos.

At one point I showed Patty an image on the back of the camera and she started crying!!! She is the cutest! She said it's what she has always dreamed of! Wow! Remind me not to show her any photos on the wedding day :)

Jennifer + Chris. Wedding Teasers. Part II :: Kona Kai, San Diego

I am excited to finally be blogging about Jennifer and Chris's wedding :) I met this lovely couple last fall over burgers and beers at the lovely Estancia. We had a great meeting and it was so obvious the love they have for each other! Chris is one of the many men who has fought for our country, and Jenn was here waiting for him to return, safe and sound! While Chris was away they had a locket that they each kept a piece of, promising that they would fit the locket together, and themselves as soon as he returned! Yes, this is a True Love Story. One of those weddings that although I was focusing on doing my job, I couldn't hold back the tears!

Jennifer and Chris got married at Kona Kai Resort, and the sun came out just as the beautiful bride came walking down the isle...

Congrats to the newlyweds!!!

Jenn and Chris hired a ceremony Painter. She was amazing, and I love this as a way to remember the ceremony forever!

Rather than having a cake, they went with Smore Cupcakes from Cupcakes Squared! What a great way to do something different, and the guests LOVED it!!!

I declare this "Count Your Blessings Friday"

If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone mention "the economy." Just this week alone I am sure I could buy a new pair of shoes or at least have a manicure! But, that is the point, I am not receiving a dollar, and neither are you. Things appear to be pretty bad right now, more for some than others. I was just told that 5 million people lost there jobs this year alone! Wow! And you thought you were hurting. All I can say to the person who informed me of this, is THANK YOU! Thank you for putting my life back into perspective. Thank you for helping me realize that even when times are a little harder, at least I am still working. At least I don't have a family to feed, a mortgage to pay, and no way of doing it. Quite the contrary, I live blocks from the beach that I have the privilege of visiting on any random afternoon, I live in a beautiful home, I have the husband of my dreams, and my life is filled with friends and family who make me laugh. I am so so so blessed. I needed to write this today as a reminder to myself and everyone reading this. Because when things in your life are hard, just ask yourself, "does someone else have it harder?" I can guarantee the answer is yes. Not that other people's pain should make you feel better. By all means, it shouldn't! But, It should make you realize how good you have it!

I got a new lens yesterday and I was trying it out in the studio before a shoot, and Lucy just happened to walk by :)

Kristina and Greg. Engagement Session

Kristina and Greg are getting married on a Tuesday, this July! I love it, and I love them. For their engagement session we roamed downtown Encinitas and Moonlight Beach :) Kristina was a little camera shy at first, but as you can see very clearly, she is beautiful and the camera loves her :)

Baby Derek. Six Months.

For those of you keeping track, this is my third time photographing baby Derek, and 6th time photographing his beautiful parents! We had a blast this time, as usual! We roamed their new neighborhood, hung out, and took some fun pics :) Waking up Saturday morning to go to their session just didn't feel like work! Thanks Dean, Erica and Derek for another fun session!!!

It has been so fun watching Derek's personality grow! I love the laughter and the many different facial expressions throughout this session! I think his personality really shows through :)




I quickly realized that posing, as with most kids, was not going to give us the opportunity to really capture Derek! He loves motion of any kind. walk, dance, put him on your head :) ...anything! So that's what we did :)


I heart wild flowers :) Every year around this time we are surrounded by gorgeous wild flowers here in So Cal. I take advantage of them whenever possible! I love these next two....

Nicole and Robert. Teasers. Part I :: The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe

Nicole and Robert got married this past Saturday at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Cardiff, Ca. The celebration continued at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe...which just happens to be my one of my favorite venues!

I typically scroll through images before editing and pick my favorites for the blog, however this one is way to hard. This couple, kicks so much ass, that it's going to take me a while to pick the images for my blog.

Patty ( my amazing intern...and Aug. bride) came over last week with a new delicious 1.8 lens :) She was trying it out on Lucy...yay!!
